Huron Valley Makes Newsweek's 2014 List of America's Top High Schools

School using International Baccalaureate curriculum highest-ranked Michigan school on list. Several other area schools also got a mention.

Two Michigan schools are ranked in the top 10 in Newsweek’s 2014 list of America’s Top High Schools.

The International Academy in Bloomfield Hills is ranked No. 5, and Washtenaw Technical Middle College in Ann Arbor ranked No. 7.

The International Academy uses a rigorous International Baccalaureate curriculum, is consistently one of the top-ranked high schools on a variety of lists. The Washtenaw school is a charter school where students can simultaneously earn their high school diplomas and associate’s degrees from Washtenaw Technical College

Last month, the International Academy was ranked the 17th best in the country and the best in Michigan in rankings released by the Daily Beast. About 30 Michigan schools were included in the ranking of 735 schools across the nation.
