The Lakeland JV football team dropped a game to Walled Lake Western 42-7 Thursday night. 

The Walled Lake Western Warriors jumped off to a quick lead on a 40-yard touchdown pass to Malik Green 54 seconds into the game and never looked back. 

Lakeland wide receiver William Schroeder caught a touchdown pass from Austin Jernigan with 1:19 left in the second quarter for Lakeland’s only touchdown.

Western led 35-7 at the half. 

Lakeland played inspired defense in the second half, despite the score. Eric Schell and Chris Lochkos had interceptions in the third for the Eagles.

Lakeland is on the road next Thursday at Waterford Kettering.
