Lakeland Players presents Oakland Countyβs premier of βBloody Bloody Andrew Jackson,β a fast-paced, satirical, emo/rock musical comedy about our seventh President, Andrew Jackson, his: youth; Presidency; birthing the Democratic Party; conflicts with the Spanish; the betrayal of the Indians; and ultimately his expansion of the United States. βBloody Bloody Andrew Jacksonβ will be presented at Pontiacβs hidden jewel, the Lafayette Grande, in a dinner theater setting, opening January 10th, 2015. Previously bringing the comedy, βEscanaba in Da Moonlight,β and the suspenseful drama βRopeβ to the Grande, Lakeland Players are pleased to be performing at the Lafayette Grande and working with the Kosch family again. Lakeland Players has been a member of Pontiacβs theatrical community from the early 1970βs and an active member of Oakland Countyβs cultural enrichment since 1958.
In its 56th Season, Lakeland Players has continued to bring quality theater to the Oakland County area and showcase local talent. The Board of Lakeland Players strives βto treat our audiences to a great theatrical experience, by bringing them new major musical productions that have not been done in this area before and expand their theatrical horizons, such as βBloody Bloody Andrew Jacksonβ and βSteppin Outβ; introduce them to local playwrights with the premier of βMid-Winter Breakβ; as well as producing traditional well known pieces, such as βThe Miracle Worker,β this way we cater to the theatrical tastes of all our patrons.β
