Lakeland Players Presents - "Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson"

Dinner Theater production of a emo/rock & roll musical! Presented at Pontiac's hidden jewel the Lafayette Grande.

Lakeland Players presents Oakland County’s premier of β€œBloody Bloody Andrew Jackson,” a fast-paced, satirical, emo/rock musical comedy about our seventh President, Andrew Jackson, his: youth; Presidency; birthing the Democratic Party; conflicts with the Spanish; the betrayal of the Indians; and ultimately his expansion of the United States. β€œBloody Bloody Andrew Jackson” will be presented at Pontiac’s hidden jewel, the Lafayette Grande, in a dinner theater setting, opening January 10th, 2015. (weekend performances). Reviews of β€œBloody Bloody Andrew Jackson” include β€œGoofy, daring musical offers Andrew Jackson as emo icon.” Los Angeles Times; β€œAudaciously inventive.” Variety; β€œA wildly exhilarating theatrical ride. Previously bringing the comedy, β€œEscanaba in Da Moonlight,” and the suspenseful drama β€œRope” to the Grande, Lakeland Players are pleased to be performing at the Lafayette Grande and working with the Kosch family again. Lisa Mohler, Producer of the show knowsβ€¦β€œ The arts community is reemerging in Pontiac’s Downtown. The entertainment district is growing stronger every day. β€˜Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson’ will be a great show for our patrons and those who don’t know us but frequent downtown. The venue of the wine cellar at the Lafayette Grande is a perfect setting, the show rocks, it is SOO politically incorrect, a ton of fun, and our cast…they are amazing and beautiful!”
Lakeland Players has been a member of Pontiac’s theatrical community from the early 1970’s and an active member of Oakland County’s cultural enrichment since 1958.
In its 56th Season, Lakeland Players has continued to bring quality theater to the Oakland County area and showcase local talent. The Board of Lakeland Players strives β€œto treat our audiences to a great theatrical experience, by bringing them new major musical productions that have not been done in this area before and expand their theatrical horizons, such as β€˜Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson’ and β€˜Steppin Out’; introduce them to local playwrights with the premier of β€˜Mid-Winter Break’; as well as producing traditional well known pieces, such as β€˜The Miracle Worker,’ this way we cater to the theatrical tastes of all our patrons.”
