Lakeland Soccer Ties Hartland

Eagles get a goal from Laura Austin to earn 1-1 tie with Hartland

Lakeland received a second half goal from Rachel Lock to force a 1-1 tie with Hartland on Thursday.

The Eagles (2-0-1) scored with just 15 minutes remaining when Austin, a senior striker, maneuvered through several players and Lock wide of the penalty box toward the end line. Rachael launched the ball into the far corner over Hartland's goalie for a perfect shot.

“It was a hard fought game by both teams,” said Lakeland head coach Curt Whitefield. “It was evenly matched and we earned a very good tie.”
