The Rams would break the scoreless tie 2:54 into the third period when Rams forward Justin Ullrey chipped the puck past Leist. It looked like Rockford would pull off the win but Kevin Lechner would take an Ian Farley pass and beat Rams goalie Jacob Rekucki with a backhand to tie the game with 1:12 left to play in the game.

Rockford’s Nathan Hill and Lakeland’s Mitch Leist were named Stars of the Game.
