Local award winning author, Sandy Richards, offers hope to those who have struggled with losing a child or loved one through her memoir, A Far Cry...From Home.Β HerΒ grief recovery bookΒ received awardsΒ from the National Indie Excellence Awards (May 2014),Β the Readersβ Favorite International Awards (September 2014) andΒ the New England Book Fair Awards (January 2015).
βWhen my son passed away, I promised him that I would keep his memory alive.Β Receiving awards by Readersβ Favorite and other industry leaders hasΒ fueled my desire to help others along their grief journey.β
Richards will be speaking at the West Bloomfield Public Library - Main Branch - on Tuesday, March 3, 2015 from 7:00 to 8:00pm.Β TheΒ event is open to the public.Β She will touch on the independent publishing method and offer insight into using memoir writing as a processing and coping method for grief recovery.Β After losing her son in a fatal car accident, Richards shares her journey - a memoir with a twist.Β The story is told from her deceased sonβs viewpoint...through the eyes of an angel.Β Books will be available for purchase at the event with $1.00 per sale going to the Tyler Richards Memorial Scholarship Fund through Legacy Scholarship Funds, LLC.Β (www.tylerrichards.com)
