Mavericks Ground Eagles 33-14

The Milford Mavericks grounded the Eagles 33-14 in the Huron Valley rivalry game.

After a scoreless first quarter, Milford scored two touchdowns in less than two minutes. Maverick running back Brandon Wallace scored on a fourth and goal from the one yard line.

After a short punt by Lakeland, Wallace scored again on a 24-yard pass from Alex Larson for a 14-0 lead. 

Milford scored with 1:52 left in the half to take a 20-0 lead. 

Eagle quarterback Casey Palanca hit Anthony Waite with a 5-yard touchdown pass late in the 3rd quarter. Waite scored Lakeland’s second touchdown on a 66-yard pass from Palanca on the second play of the fourth quarter. 

With the win, Milford clinches a playoff spot.

Sixteen seniors played their final game for Lakeland. The Eagles wrap up the 2011 season with a 4-5 record.
