Menorah-Topped Vehicles Spread the Light on Chanukah

A parade of dozens of cars, limousines and party buses topped with giant electrically lighted silver, gold-plated and wooden menorahs will travel from Oak Park to Birmingham Wednesday, stopping in Southfield, Huntington Woods and Royal Oak along the way.

The βMenorahcade,β as its known, spreads the light of the Chanukah holiday season along the route that starts at the Harry & Wanda Zekelman Campus of the Lubavitch Yeshivah Educational Center.
Many of the vehicles will have speakers playing Jewish holiday music.

This special event is organized by the students of Lubavitch Yeshivah - International School for Chabad Leadership, 15151 West Ten Mile Road in Oak Park.
Young men, ages 13 to 19, come from 17 U.S. states and 10 countries to attend the top-notch learning institution in Michigan that produces graduates who receive an education immersed in Chabad-Lubavitch teachings.
The parade begins at 4:30 p.m. at 15151 West 10 Mile Road in Oak Park, then travels on Greenfield Road, Lincoln Drive, Main Street, 11 Mile Road, Woodward Avenue and Old Woodward Avenue.
