Michigan State Criterium Championship Races Through Milford

Milford's own Scott Hoffner wins the race for charity.

The 2011 Michigan State Criterium Championship raced through Milford on Sunday. 

A series of 12 races took place on a 0.93 mile closed course on the streets through the village under sunny skies. 

Race Director Joe Dolan said he was excited to work with the Huron Valley Athletic Club and Huron Valley Sinai Hospital to bring the race to Huron Valley for the third consecutive year.

Milford High School graduate Scott Hoffner, class of 2009, won the championship in the Elite Men Category 3 which was also part of the Race for Charity.  Hoffner is part of the Brevard College cycling team which took their second consecutive team national championship this year.

With the win, $1,000 will be donated to the Huron Valley Educational Foundation.
