Oakland County Bar Association to host People's Law College January 25
The Oakland County Bar Association and Foundation will host free People's Law College January 25 at the Ferndale Public Library
BLOOMFIELD HILLS, MI β Are you dealing with divorce issues? Wondering if your boss is violating your rights at work? Having trouble paying your Oakland County property taxes? If so, attend the Oakland County Bar Associationβs free Peopleβs Law College on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at the Ferndale Public Library in Bloomfield Hills from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.
This free event is designed to help educate members of the community on different areas of the law and to assist attendees in finding answers to their legal questions with first-hand insight from noted Oakland County attorneys.
Three seminar sessions are offered, with two running simultaneously. Oakland County Treasurer, Andy Meisner, will present Property Taxes: What to Do if You Canβt Pay from 6:00 β 6:50 p.m. The second two sessions, Anatomy of a Divorce with Kelly Bidelman, Esq. from Legal Aid & Defender Association and Employment Issues: Know Your Rights with Syeda F. Davidson, Esq., from Burgess Sharp & Golden PLLC will run from 7:00 - 7:50 p.m.

A free Ask-a-Lawyer session will also be held for the duration of the program. Participants will have an opportunity to talk one-on-one to an attorney and receive brief advice and counsel regarding their personal questions and concerns. The attorneys will be able to discuss topics including juvenile, family, bankruptcy, probate, criminal, general civil and landlord/tenant matters.
