Oakland County Man Dies In Ice Sailboat Crash: Sheriff
Oakland County officials do not know what caused the iceboat to crash, but believe the man hit his head on ice in the lake.

WHITE LAKE TOWNSHIP, MI — An Independence Township man died Sunday after police said he crashed an iceboat on Pontiac Lake in White Lake Township.
Dan Erwin Campbell, 81, was sailing the 27-foot iceboat on the easternmost part of Pontiac Lake just before noon when the boat crashed about 100 yards from the shore, the Oakland County Sheriff's Office said.
Police do not know what caused the iceboat to crash, but believe Campbell hit his head on ice in the lake. He was wearing a helmet and face shield, police said.

Campbell was rushed to the hospital where he died, police said.
Detectives were still investigating the crash.
