Oakland County Man Stalks Social Media Influencer, Creates AI Porn Photos Of Her: Feds

COMMERCE TOWNSHIP, MI — An Oakland County man on Tuesday pleaded guilty to using artificial intelligence to create pornographic images of a social media influencer he was stalking online, according to federal officials.

Joshua Stilman, 37, of Commerce Township pleaded guilty Tuesday to cyberstalking, which carries a maximum sentence of up to five years in prison. He will be sentenced on May 21.

From February 2025 through March 2025, officials said Stilman created artificial intelligence (AI)-generated nude and sexually graphic images of a social media influencer. He often asked her about her sexual preferences and made sexual threats of his own through private social media messages, officials said.

He then threatened to release the fake pornographic images of her to her nearly 100,000 social media followers if she continued ignoring his messages, officials said.

Officials said Stilman was using the screen name FriendBlender, but they later determined it was Stilman behind the messages through a Google Drive link that contained the collection of AI-generated nude images of the influencer.

"Joshua Stilman's guilty plea makes clear that cyber stalking - especially when amplified through the weaponization of artificial intelligence - is a dangerous offense, not a harmless online act," Special Agent in Charge of the FBI Detroit Field Office Jennifer Runyan said. "Hiding behind a keyboard to intimidate and harass another person is an act of cowardice, and today's outcome demonstrates that such behavior will be met with full accountability."
