Oakland Youth Orchestras presents fundraising recital by alumnus Curt Christensen
Oakland Youth Orchestras (OYO) continues its 40th Anniversary celebration with a solo recital

featuring OYO alumnus, trumpeter Curt Christensen, at St. John Lutheran Church located at 1011 W. University Drive in Rochester, MI on February 6, 2015 at 7:30 pm. Donations will be accepted at the door to benefit OYOβs Legacy Endowment Fund and future students of OYO.
Mr. Christensen will be performing contemporary classical and jazz pieces written for trumpet with pianist Ina Mirtcheva.
Originally from Mt. Clemens, Michigan, Mr. Christensen graduated from Clintondale High School and went on to earn Bachelor of Music and Master of Music degrees in trumpet performance from The Juilliard School. He is currently a Doctor of Musical Arts student at George Mason University.
Mr. Christensen is retired from the United States Air Force Band in Washington, D.C. after a 26 year career. Mr. Christensen regularly performed as a soloist with the USAF Band, and other ensembles nationwide, playing a wide variety of the trumpet literature. He has performed in all 50 of the United States, Canada, Mexico, Europe and Asia, performing concerts and ceremonies for civilians, military leaders and international heads of state.
