One Last Look: Aurora Borealis Trips the (Northern) Lights Fantastic

Parts of the Michigan sky turned green Tuesday night. It had nothing to do with St. Patrick’s Day, of course. A massive solar storm caused the auroras to dip farther south, giving Michiganders a fantastic light show.

We asked readers to share their photos.

Michigan photographer Guy Strong shot his photos Tuesday in Leelanau County on Good Harbor Bay, near his home in Cedar.

Mike Kiczenski, who shot the photo near Marquette on St. Patrick’s Day.

And, finally, K. Baker shot his photos far away from the Detroit metro in Calgary, Canada.
