'Operation Pig-Out' Ham Distribution Begins
Oakland County sheriff's deputies based at substations throughout the county will be handing out 300 hams Tuesday.

Officers with the Oakland County Sheriffβs Office will complete the final phase of βOperation Pig-Outβ Tuesday with the distribution of 300 hams, beginning at noon.
The ham were donated by Dr. Frank Patino, who appear with Detroit Piston center James Edward at a kickoff event at noon Tuesday in the parking lot at the sheriffβs office headquarters, 1200 N. Telegraph Road, Pontiac.
The hams will be distributed by deputies from the following substations: Addison Township including the Village of Leonard; Brandon Township including the Village of Ortonville; Commerce Township; Highland Township; Independence Township, including the City of the Village of Clarkston; Lyon Township; Orion Township; Oxford Township; Oakland Township; the City of Pontiac; the City of Rochester Hills; and Springfield Township.

Citizens throughout the county will be approached by uniformed deputies on Tuesday and will receive a ham from one of the deputies.
βWe as an agency are proud to make our citizenβs holiday seasons a little brighter through these types of outreach efforts,β said Sheriff Michael Bouchard. βOnly with great private sector sponsors are we able to fill unmet community needs and this will help 300 families have a tasty holiday dinner.β
