Prestwick Village Golf Club Clubhouse about to undergo a $1.5M renovation

HIGHLAND, MI (December 30, 2016)

Members of the Prestwick Village Golf Club, located in Highland, Michigan, recently passed a $1.5 million renovation proposal. The renovation to the 24,000 square foot clubhouse, which includes a complete redesign, is due to start this month, December 2016.

The project will run through spring of 2017 with a grand re-opening scheduled to kick off the 20th anniversary of the club’s establishment in 1996.

Working hand and hand with MIG Construction and Huron Valley State Bank, the Prestwick Village clubhouse will feature a “Northern Michigan Resort” feel, reconstructing the Muirfield Ballroom, Turnberry Grille, as well as locker rooms. The Prestwick Pub will also be part of the reconstruction and will increase its size and triple the capacity.

“Redesigning our Prestwick Village Golf Clubhouse is one of the most strategic initiatives we will ever face as members,” Shane Pringle, General Manager of Prestwick Village Golf Club told members in announcing the clubhouse project. “We are grateful our members demonstrated a remarkable show of support to help make the Prestwick Village clubhouse match our exemplary golf course, practice, swimming, and tennis facilities.

“Our membership recognizes the importance of investing in Prestwick Village’s amenities, its family-focused lifestyle, and future home values,” Shane Pringle said. “We have taken the necessary steps to ensure we attract new members and maximize the enjoyment of our current members and their guests.”

The overwhelming support from the membership initiated the project to compliment the 18-hole championship golf course which is host to the June 2017 PGA Michigan Open; the Open is celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2017.
