See's Candies Recalls Popular Valentine's Day Classic Red Hearts

All of the 8-ounce Classic Red Hearts were recalled by the San Francisco-based confectionaire.

Valentine’s Day candy buyers, here’s some news you need to know:

See’s Candies is recalling all of its 8-ounce Classic Red Hearts with assorted chocolates boxes because they contain undeclared tree nuts.

The San Francisco-based confectionaire issued an “allergy alert on undisclosed nuts” after it discovered a red heart-shaped box containing an incorrectly labeled chocolate base among boxes that were correctly marked.

The recalled product has the UPC bar code 737666091201 and has the stamp date L.A.N. 048/15. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to tree nuts (for example, almonds, walnuts, pecans, coconut) run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products.

The candies were distributed nationwide through See’s Candies’ retail, web phone and catalog operations. They may be returned the herts to the place of purchase for a full refund or exchange.
