White Lake 7th Grade Girls Lose to Rival Highland Middle School
Despite a furious comeback, the Warriors lost 31-29.
The Highland Middle School seventh-grade girls basketball team held off a furious rally by White Lake Middle School in the final quarter to win a close game 31-29.
Highland jumped out to a 10-2 lead after the opening quarter, and the Scots played solid defense and used a tough inside game to take a 23-6 lead at the half.
The second half was a different story for the White Lake Warriors. Their offense got going in the fourth quarter and they outscored Highland 11-8 to cut the lead almost in half.

In the final quarter, White Lake put on a furious rally lead by guards Molly Stec and Hannah Wikle. The Warrior defense held Highland scoreless in the final 6 minutes.
Despite scoring 12 unanswered points, the rally fell short as Highland held on for the 31-29 win. Molly Stec lead White Lake with 17 points and Brynne Gustafson had 10 points for Highland.
