White Lake 8th Grade Girls Beat Oak Valley; 7th Graders Tie
Eighth-grade girls win 25-11 in basketball showdown while the seventh-grade teams tie 28-28 after overtime.
The eighth-grade grade girls basketball teams from and Oak Valley Middle School got together for their annual showdown Wednesday afternoon before a large crowd at White Lake. The game was highlighted by solid half court offense and tight defense from both teams.
After a close first quarter, White Lake took control in the second quarter by out scoring Oak Valley 9-2 to take a 15-4 half time lead. Oak Valley made a run in the final quarter but was unable to overcome the deficit. White Lake's half court defense was solid throughout the entire game which was key in their 25-11 victory.
The White Lake Middle School seventh-grade girls tied Oak Valley 28-28. Both teams played hard for the entire game including one overtime period. Coach Darci LaRowe from White Lake and Coach Terry Haren decided to have the game end in a tie after the long battle between the two hard working teams.

The future looks bright for both Lakeland High School and Milford High School basketball as these future high school basketballers continue to improve and have fun on the court.
