White Lake Middle School Girls Basketball Team Opens Season with Win
Eighth graders beat Sara Banks 34-21.
The eighth grade White Lake Middle School girls basketball team opened up their 2011 season with a solid 34-21 win over Sara Banks Middle School.
The first quarter saw some opening game jitters as each team turned the ball over a number of times. After a 4 all tie at the end of the first quarter, the Warriors took charge by outscoring Sara Banks 11-4 to take a 15-8 lead at half time.
Using a special give and go play Coach Ben Malecki learned from his middle school coach, the Warriors took charge in the second half by scoring six easy lay-ups.

He said he was pleased with the defensive effort of Kennedy Boyd and the rebounding of Sarah Porter.
Haney led a balanced scoring attack with nine points while Amanda Lock and Madison McGinn each scored eight points for the Warriors.
