WYANDOTTE, MI — The owners of District 142 in Wyandotte are expanding the concert venue with a new lounge that will serve food and drinks.
District Sound Lounge will open next to District 142 in the former Jbird Wine Bar space at 150 Maple in Wyandotte sometime this month.
The music-themed lounge will have a menu with pub grub food, including flatbread pizza, hot dogs, pretzels and other appetizers.
It will also feature a full bar and music-themed decor, such as photographs, guitar picks and instruments. A longtime fan of the venue also donated autographed guitars from Paul McCartney, the Who, Led Zeppelin and Pearl Jam.
Live music from the District 142 stage will be pumped into the lounge during concerts, so fans can shift venues without missing a beat.
Even those without a ticket to the District 142 venue can still pop into the lounge to socialize and enjoy the vibes.
District Sound Lounge will also be open after concerts, and on non-concert nights guests can expect other music performers and entertainment.
"We've always wanted to offer food, but we just didn't have the space," District 142 owner Josh Cade said in a statement announcing the new bar. "Now we can serve food during shows while also creating a unique gathering space for Downtown Wyandotte on nights when there isn't a concert. We also know how important it is to get food out quickly on show days, so guests will be able to order from two kiosks and pick up their food right at the kitchen counter."
District 142 opened at 142 Maple Street in downtown Wyandotte. It features more than 800 seats and has hosted hundreds of touring artists and local talent.
