Czarnota Battles for the Ball

Sophomore guard leads girls basketball in scoring, averaging 13 points per contest.

Sophomore guard Amelia Czarnota has surpassed her fair share of helping the girls basketball team this season. She currently leads the team in scoring, averaging 13 points per contest and has started every game for the Bears.

“In the short time that she has been with us, she has been great,” coach Ron Adkins said.

Czarnota has endured quite the season for the Bears. In a game against Carlson, she was fouled while attempting a 3-pointer to tie the game. She stepped to the line and made all three free throws as if it were her and an empty gym.

Adkins also praised Czarnota for her personality off the court.

“Amelia is a great person," he said. "She had a solid upbringing and it shows. She never has anything bad to say about anyone.”
