Deliciously Healthy - Low Carb: "How" and "Why"?
Trying to lose weight, eat healthy, gluten intolerant, or control Diabetes - this can help!

Do you know why so many people are ”gluten intolerant” (and what that means), what genetically modified organisms (GMO) are, the health hazards of none organic food, or can’t seem to control your Diabetes or lose weight? All of these answers can be found at http://www.deliciouslyhealthy.net. For well over a decade, I have had my diabetes under control WITHOUT medication and my A1c stays between 5.6 to 5.9. It is possible to eat low carb and gluten free and still enjoy breads, pastas, pies, cakes, cookies, and a lot of other yummy foods - the trick is understanding how the body metabolizes food, and how to substitute healthy ingredients instead of unhealthy ones.
In the downriver area, we are fortunate enough to have some good health food stores like Total Health Food on Biddle and Better Health Food on Eureka. Stores like Krogers, Meijers and a few others are carrying more and more healthy foods, and a few local restaurants are now offering ”Gluten Free” menus, but you do have to ask for them specifically.
There are a lot of videos on this site to help explain some of these newer terms like ”gluten” and ”GMOs”, ingredient substitutions, latest medical facts, and so much more. YOU ARE WHAT YOU EAT, so choose to take control over the foods you put into your body. While it is true that eating healthy can be a bit more expensive, just ask yourself if you would rather spend your money on healthy food or give it to doctors and/or hospitals while you trudge along feeling sick, tired, have brain fog, wheat belly, or spend it on medicines.
