According to GlobalWorkPlaceAnalytics, as of 2012, 2.6 percent of the U.S. workforce cited their home as the place where they do most of their work. That was a nearly 80 percent growth from 2005.

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, 23 percent of employed persons did part or all of their work from home. That’s up from 2003 when just 19 percent reported doing some or all of their work from home.
And 39.1 percent of workers over 25 with a bachelor’s degree do some or all of their work from home.
