January 25, 2015 March for Life

Seventy people participated in the January 25th March for Life in Wyandotte from Our Lady of the Scapular to the Mt. Carmel Cemetery. We joined in solidarity with the students from Gabriel Richard, Cabrini and Divine Child High Schools and others from Michigan who rode buses to Washington, DC for the national March for Life on January 22, 2015.

At the Monument for the Unborn, Deacon Luis Flores from St. Frances Cabrini, joined by Deacon Richard Bloomfield from Our Lady of the Scapular led a prayer service to remember the babies killed by abortion. The group prayed for the healing of the mothers and fathers as well as those working at abortion facilities, that we might all embrace and protect life from the moment of conception to natural death.

Following the prayer service the marchers joined those who were unable to be out in the cold weather for an Open House and refreshments at the Right to Life of Michigan Resource Center, 2010 Eureka, Wyandotte. Participants represented Calvary Lutheran Church in Lincoln Park, Living Water Church in Southgate, Salvation Army in Wyandotte, and the Catholic parishes of Our Lady of the Scapular, St. Frances Cabrini, St. Pius, Sacred Heart, St. Joseph (Trenton), St. Vincent Pallotti, St. Andrew and Benedict, Our Lady of the Woods, Christ the Good Shepherd and a Jewish Synagogue.

Four other prayer events took place during the last week praying for an end to abortion and for respect for all human life. They were at Community Bible Church in Trenton, New Hope Assembly of God in Taylor, St. Cyprian in Riverview, and St. Frances Cabrini in Allen Park.
