held its annual Career Day on Monday, where eighth-grade students spent the half-day learning about job possiblilities they may pursue in the future.

School Supt. Patricia Cole kicked off the event with a keynote speech, during which she encouraged students that they could someday have any job they wanted, if they set their minds to it.

“Today is your dream day,” Cole told the students. “Think about the different jobs you’re hearing about. Think about what you see people talk about in their session with you today that help them in their job. Listen to people and think about possibilities."

“Anything is possible,” she added. “You just don’t know where you can be, but you have to be the person you are right now to be in the job you want later. Your ultimate goal is to be independent, earn a living, to be successful and to be happy.”

Presenters ranged from a police officer to a veterinarian to a journalist–our very own Dearborn Patch editor Jessica Carreras.
