Police: Boys Intentionally Shot Out Woman's Teeth While Vacationing

Two Inkster siblings may be extradited to Florida to face charges after allegedly shooting four people with BB gun as they lounged at pool.

Two Inkster boys could be returned to Florida to face criminal charges after police said they intentionally shot out one woman’s teeth with a BB gun and fired on three other people relaxing around a swimming pool at their grandmother’s apartment complex last week.

The siblings, ages 12 and 16, were supposed to spend the entire summer with their grandmother at the Holly Hills complex, but their vacation was cut short when their mother learned of their alleged crimes, the Daytona Beach News-Journal reports.

According to police affidavits, the woman who was shot in the mouth on June 8 lost two teeth and also sustained a shoulder injury. Another victim, who was shot in the back, thought he sustained a “severe bee sting,” and his wife was shot in the chest. Another woman bled after she was shot in the shoulder.

The woman whose teeth were chipped said she’s trying to come up with the money for dental work, which her insurance reportedly won’t cover, according to a report on WJBK-TV

Police said the siblings aimed the BB gun from a residential window. They reportedly admitted to touching the gun, but denied shooting at the victims, WDIV-TV reports.

Each youth faces a felony charge of aggravated battery with a weapon and a misdemeanor charge of simple assault. The boys would have to be extradited from Michigan to Florida to face charges, but their mother, Canielle Nolan, may fight that, according to the report.

One of the victims, Clifford Woods, told the Daytona Beach newspaper he thinks the boys should be charged.

“Maybe they can learn a lesson,” said Woods, whose wife was also injured in the shooting. “Maybe they can get a wake-up call before something happens like they (end up) killing someone.”
