Police: Wyandotte Woman Gave Birth at Work, Hid Baby in Desk Drawer
The baby, unresponsive when paramedics arrived, was pronounced dead at an area hospital after resuscitation attempts failed.

A Wyandotte woman gave birth in a bathroom stall at her workplace earlier this week, then put the baby in a bag that she hid in her desk drawer while she continued to work, police said Thursday.
Paramedics were called to Ceva Logistics in Redford about 11 a.m. Tuesday after employees of the business discovered blood on the wall and floor of a restroom stall, the Detroit Free Press reports.
The baby, who appeared to be full-term, was unresponsive when paramedics arrived. Attempts to resuscitate the newborn at an area hospital were unsuccessful, and the baby was pronounced dead.

The woman, 25, hasn’t been identified. Coworkers reportedly asked the woman if she was OK after finding the blood, and she was “lighthearted,” the newspaper said, and mentioned nothing about having just given birth.
Grief counseling was available to the approximately 240 workers at the company, where the woman worked in a temporary position.
