Restaurant, Retail, Apartments to Go Up on Sears Garage Site

New project will be partially funded by money from the Michigan Economic Development Corporation.

Wyandotte’s old Sears Auto Repair garage will be getting a facelift thanks to state funding.

The building at 3061 Biddle Ave., will be renovated with about $800,000 from the Michigan Economic Development Corporation and about $220,000 from the Wyandotte Downtown Development Authority, according to a News-Herald report.

The project also has a 12-year, $1.6 million tax exemption and a $325,000, 15-year neighborhood enterprise exemption, the report stated.
