Signs Your Brakes Are In Need of Replacement or Repair
When brakes are in need of service or repair, it can almost always be heard, seen, or felt by the driver.

There are some repairs on a car that can be wait to be fixed, such as heating or cooling, but your brakes are nothing to mess around with. After all, optimal brake performance is key to ensuring that you and your loved ones are always safe. Brakes should be periodically checked since even the smallest issue can lead to an accident.
When brakes are in need of service or repair, it can almost always be heard, seen, or felt by the driver. You may hear a screeching or grinding sound, which is never a good sign. The screeching noise is caused by small metal shin, which is meant to indicate that brake pads are in need of replacement. Grinding, on the other hand, is the result of brake pads that have been worn completely down and are likely past the point of replacement.
Visual cues that brakes are in need of service include the thickness of the brakes pads and grooves in the rotor. By looking through the spokes of the car wheel, a driver can take a glance at their brake pads. If they are less than 1/4 thick, they should bring the vehicle in to get looked at right away. Worn down brake pads may also cause deep grooves in the rotor, which may also need to be replaced if a driver waits too long. Finally, you may notice that your car pulls one way or the other when applying the brakes, which could signify the need for new brake pads.
