Whiz Kid: Wyandotte Girl Skates Through Life
Eleven-year-old Natalie Walsh is succeeding academically and in her extracurricular activities.

Whiz Kid: Natalie Walsh
Age: 11
School: Just graduated from and will be attending in the fall.
Accomplishment: Natalie was one of five students to receive the 5th Grade Garfield Elementary School Academic Scholarship. She has made principal’s list for all four quarters of fourth and fifth grades. At school, she was a Safety Patrol Captain and member of the Techno Team. Outside of the classroom, Natalie is a violinist with the Dearborn Youth Symphony and received a scholarship from the group this year. She also received a scholarship to Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp. Natalie figure skates with the Wyandotte Figure Skating Club. She earned a first-place skating medal in compulsory moves and a second-place medal with her pair’s partner, Keith Chinavare. Natalie recently passed her pre-preliminary moves-in-the-field skating test. She has danced with the Rogalin Dance Troupe, a Polish folk dance troupe, for eight years.
Key to Awesomeness: When Natalie decides to do something, she does it well. She is very strict and disciplined with herself and has a great work ethic.
