The Wyandotte Jaycees tries to partner up with local theater groups during this time of year to help promote their haunted house (www.wyandottejaycees.org/hh) and local community theatre groups. This year, the partnership was with Wyandotte Community Theatre as their home was a perfect fit for a live performance of The Rocky Horror Show. The Rocky Horror Show is a musical with music, lyrics and a book by Richard O’Brien.
A humorous tribute to the science fiction and horror B movies of the late 1940s through to the early 1970s, the musical tells the story of a newly engaged couple getting caught in a storm and coming to the home of a mad transvestite scientist unveiling his new creation, a muscle man named Rocky Horror. This year marks the 40th anniversary of the actual performance in London, England.
