Wyandotte Teen Diver Hospitalized During Holland Swim Meet

A lifeguard and swim coach had to rescue the 16-year-old boy from the bottom of the pool.

A Wyandotte high school diver was rushed to the hospital Friday afternoon during a swim meet in Holland, according to a Holland Sentinel report.

A lifeguard and a swim coach had to pull the 16-year-old boy from Roosevelt High School from the bottom of pool after he dived into the water during warm-ups, the report stated. The boy was resuscitated at the scene and was conscious when he was brought to the hospital, the report added.

Officials said they were unsure if the boy injured himself during the dive or had a medical emergency, the report stated, adding the student has a history of seizures.
