1-Month Old Baby Dies At Southern MN Casino

MINNEAPOLIS — Police are investigating after a one-month-old baby died at a southern Minnesota casino.

On Feb. 8 at about 6:30 a.m., the Yellow Medicine County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call of an unresponsive infant at the Prairie’s Edge Casino Resort Hotel.

Emergency medical responders from the casino and the region responded and provided lifesaving efforts. However, the child was pronounced dead at the scene.

The child was transported to the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy.

The Upper Sioux Community Police were assisted by Granite Falls Ambulance, Yellow Medicine County Sheriff's Office, and the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension in the investigation.

"The case is currently under investigation, no further information is available at this time, the Yellow Medicine County Sheriff's Office said.
