10-Year-Old Lily Peters Death: Juvenile Arrested In Chippewa Falls

Police across the border in Wisconsin Tuesday announced that they arrested a juvenile in the death of 10-year-old Lily Peters.
Peters' body was found on Monday in a wooded area in Chippewa Falls, a city located just over an hour east of St. Paul.
Police arrested one unnamed juvenile and there's no danger to the public, Chippewa Falls Police Chief Matthew Kelm said in a press conference Tuesday evening. The juvenile and Peters knew each other, he added.

Peters' body was found near a walking trail in the Duncan Hills creek after a 13-hour search.
The girl didn't return after a trip to her aunt's house around 9 p.m. on Sunday night, her father told police.

A bicycle that belonged to Peters was in the woods near her aunt's house, and police searched the wooded area and went door to door. Peters' body was found around 9:15 a.m. Monday, the police chief said.
Officers then searched the inside of a house on Grove Street and collected evidence on Tuesday, Community members gave over 200 tips to the police department, the chief added.
