A local fried chicken chain is expanding into the Twin Cities suburbs.

Official Fried Chicken announced earlier this week that its Edina location at 5125 Edina Industrial Blvd. was open for business, with an Inver Grove Heights eatery at 9043 Broderick Blvd. expected to open Thursday.

A third location in Woodbury is planned for 1960 Donegal Drive.

Official Fried Chicken offers tenders, sandwiches and bone-in options, plus sides like mashed potatoes and mac and cheese, as well as dirty sodas, refreshers, chargers and free vanilla ice cream with an in-store purchase.

The brand got its start four years ago in south Minneapolis but set up shop in stadiums like Target Field and U.S. Bank Stadium after its first location closed, according to The Minnesota Star Tribune.
