Boy, 11, Stabs Stranger In St. Cloud Grocery Store: Police

Bystanders held the suspect down until officers arrived, police said.

ST. CLOUD, MN — An 11-year-old boy stabbed an 18-year-old man multiple times in a St. Cloud grocery store Tuesday evening, according to St. Cloud Police.

Officers responded to the 900 block of Cooper Avenue South at 5:09 p.m. after a report of a stabbing.

Police said the victim and other customers of the grocery store were able to subdue the child until officers arrived.

The two were not known to each other before the attack. The victim was taken to St. Cloud Hospital with significant but non-life-threatening injuries.

The 11-year-old suspect, from St. Cloud, was taken into custody.

Officers recovered the knife used in the assault at the scene.

The child was not injured but was taken to St. Cloud Hospital for evaluation.

Police executed a search warrant at an address in St. Cloud connected to the suspect. The case remains under active investigation by the Criminal Investigation Unit.
