Coronavirus Outbreaks: MN Health Dept. Updates Schools Affected

The Minnesota Department of Health is now publishing information related to coronavirus outbreaks in schools.

MINNESOTA — Beginning in October, the Minnesota Department of Health is publishing the K-12 schools that are experiencing coronavirus outbreaks.

The below schools reported five or more confirmed cases of the coronavirus in students or staff who were in the building while infectious during the most recent two-week reporting period:

  • Clay — Horizon Middle School, Moorhead
  • Crow Wing — Brainerd Senior High School, Brainerd
  • Freeborn — Albert Lea Senior High School, Albert Lea
  • Isanti — Isanti Middle School
  • Itasca — Grand Rapids Senior High, Grand Rapids
  • Kandiyohi — Roosevelt Elementary, Willmar
  • Martin — Fairmont Jr./Sr. High School, Fairmont
  • Martin — Martin Luther High School, Northrop
  • Martin — St. Paul Lutheran School , Fairmont
  • Pine — Hinckley Elementary, Hinckley
  • Stearns — Rocori Senior High, Cold Spring

Total deaths: 2,141

  • Deaths among cases that resided in long-term care or assisted living facilities: 1,521

Total cases hospitalized: 8,354
