COVID Deaths In MN: How Many People Were Fully Vaccinated?

As of Monday, 0.002 percent of fully vaccinated Minnesotans died of COVID-related causes.

ACROSS MINNESOTA — Eighty Minnesotans died of COVID-related causes after being fully vaccinated against the virus, according to data released from the state Department of Health.

That number represents 0.002 percent of fully vaccinated Minnesotans.

"The vaccines are still highly effective at preventing serious illness, hospitalizations and deaths," said Doug Schultz, a spokesman for the state health department, told the Star Tribune.

Total breakthrough cases

The number of total breakthrough cases so far is 12,559 — .415 percent of the 3,028,670 Minnesotans who are fully vaccinated — officials said. In other words, over 99.5 percent of fully vaccinated Minnesotans have not tested positive for COVID-19.

Hospitalization

A total of 810 fully vaccinated residents — or .027 percent of the fully vaccinated population — have been hospitalized with COVID.

Deaths

A total of 80 fully vaccinated residents — or 0.002 percent of the fully vaccinated population — have died of complications from the virus, according to state health officials.
