Dairy Queen Closes At Mall Of America After Eviction Lawsuit: Reports
The soft serve shop had fallen almost $75,000 behind on rent, according to reports.

BLOOMINGTON, MN — Dairy Queen has closed its Mall of America location following an eviction lawsuit brought by the mall, marking the first time the soft serve shop has not had a presence in the mall since it opened more than 30 years ago, according to reports.
The store shuttered June 4 after the mall sued franchisee Non-Typical Cos. in May because the location had fallen almost $75,000 behind on rent, the Star Tribune reported, noting the lawsuit was settled and Dairy Queen’s five-year lease was up this month.
Non-Typical Cos. received nearly $60,000 in loans from the Paycheck Protection Program in 2021, which were forgiven, according to Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal.
