Fatal Crash Between Semi, Passenger Car Closes Eastbound Hwy 36 In Lake Elmo

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — The Minnesota State Patrol says a fatal crash involving a semi and passenger car has prompted the closure of eastbound Highway 36 to the east of the Twin Cities Friday morning.

According to the state patrol, the incident occurred around 6:30 a.m. on Highway 36 west of Keats Avenue in Lake Elmo, Minnesota. There, a semi with a side dump trailer was stopped northbound in the cross over on Highway 36.

A Honda Civc traveling eastbound on Highway 36 struck the back of the trailer, which was into the eastbound lanes of traffic, according to the state patrol.
