STEARNS COUNTY, MN — An Avon man survived after crashing his car into a central Minnesota lake last week thanks to good Samaritans. Stearns County deputies responded to the crash Friday evening at Lower Spunk Lake in Avon Township.
According to Sheriff Steve Soyka, the man's 2012 Chevrolet Chrysler 200 left the roadway and entered the ditch, hitting an approach. The Chrysler continued through a yard, hitting a raised flower bed garden, and went down the hill into Lower Spunk Lake.
An Avon first responder and good Samaritans helped the driver out of the vehicle. The driver did not sustain any injuries, according to a news release.
