Here Are The 20 Best Places To Live In MN: Niche Report

MINNESOTA — This week, Patch Editor Payton Potter reported on Niche's report rating the best places to live in each state. Here's the story, in case you missed it:

The list of top cities was made using city data from the U.S. Census Bureau, the FBI, the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and other sources.
According to Niche, Minneapolis is the eighth best city in the country for young professionals. The city ranked No. 21, overall, compared to large cities across the nation.

The rankings consider a variety of topics to determine a town or city's standing, including affordability, local housing market, neighborhood diversity, local public schools and walkability, to name a few.
According to the study, these are the 20 best neighborhoods and towns in Minnesota:

1. Macalester-Groveland — Neighborhood in Saint Paul
2. St. Anthony Park — Neighborhood in Saint Paul
3. Eden Prairie — City South of Minneapolis
4. Falcon Heights — Suburb of Saint Paul
5. Summit Hill — Neighborhood in Saint Paul
6. Lauderdale — Suburb of Minneapolis
7. Edina — Suburb of Minneapolis
8. Union Park — Neighborhood in Saint Paul
9. Como — Neighborhood in Saint Paul
10. Highland — Neighborhood in Saint Paul
11. Linden Hills — Neighborhood in Minneapolis
12. Shoreview — Suburb of Saint Paul
13. Hamline-Midway — Neighborhood in Saint Paul
14. Lowry Hill — Neighborhood in Minneapolis
15. Fulton — Neighborhood in Minneapolis
16. Shorewood — Suburb of Minneapolis
17. Chanhassen — Suburb of Minneapolis
18. Plymouth — City West of Minneapolis
19. Downtown St. Paul

Nationally, Niche's research found that Chesterbrook, PA, was the best place to live in America, while The Woodlands, TX, earned top honors in the Best Cities to Live in America rankings.
