Suspect Shoots Self In Lot Of Mayo's Cannon Falls Clinic: Sheriff

The driver led deputies on a police chase that started in West Concord and ended in Cannon Falls.

CANNON FALLS, MN — A person killed himself in the parking lot of a Mayo Clinic facility in Cannon Falls following a police chase, according to authorities.

On Sunday at about 7:40 p.m., Dodge County deputies responded to the town of West Concord to assist an officer there who had been rammed into during an attempted traffic stop.

The vehicle fled the scene, and a witness followed it. Deputies found the fleeing vehicle and tried to initiate a traffic stop. But they continued to flee, according to investigators.

The pursuit continued north into Goodhue County. It ended in the parking lot of a Mayo Clinic facility in Cannon Falls, where the suspect shot and killed themself, authorities said.

No deputies fired their weapons during the incident, according to the sheriff's office. The West Concord officer injured in the initial crash was transported to Owatonna Hospital.
