Minneapolis Man Shot In Leg In Hunting Accident: Sheriff
The man's hunting partner was attempting to check to make sure his firearm was unloaded when it went off, authorities said.
BECKER COUNTY, MN — A Minneapolis man is expected to survive after he was accidentally shot in the leg in a hunting accident in northern Minnesota on Sunday, according to authorities.
On Nov. 5 at about 11:30 a.m., the Becker County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call about a 40-year-old man who was shot in a wooded area in Forest Township.
The man's hunting partner was attempting to check to make sure his firearm was unloaded when it went off, striking the victim in the leg, investigators said.

Sailor was transported in a private vehicle partway from the scene, but the vehicle broke down thereafter.
First responders found them, and the victim was then taken by ambulance to Sanford Hospital in Bemidji with non-life-threatening injuries.

"This appears to be an accidental shooting and is no longer under investigation," Becker County Sheriff Todd Glander said in a statement.
In addition to the Becker County Sheriff's Office, the White Earth Tribal Police Department, White Earth Conservation, Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, North Memorial Ambulance, and Carsonville Rescue all responded to the scene.
