Minnesota families invited to learn more about full-time online school

(ST. PAUL, MN) – The faculty and staff at Falcon View Connections Academy, a statewide, tuition-free, online public school, are looking forward to welcoming new and returning students on Tuesday, September 5th. As many parents continue to consider different academic options for their children, Falcon View Connections Academy is offering opportunities for families to learn more about the virtual environment.

Families who are interested in learning if a full-time online school is the right fit for their child(ren) are invited to attend an online information session on Thursday, September 7th at 6 p.m. During the session they will have the opportunity to speak to staff members, learn how the online classroom works and how teachers engage and support the students.

At Falcon View Connections Academy students receive an online education that is tailored to their individual needs with a new interactive LiveLesson platform that enables teachers to individualize lesson plans, tests and assessments. Falcon View Connections Academy’s state-certified teachers and a proven curriculum provide a positive academic experience for its students who are able to learn in a safe, nurturing environment.

Virtual school is a great fit for a variety of students and each student is unique. Those who attend Falcon View Connections Academy come from different backgrounds and choose full-time online school for various reasons. Some students prefer to take ownership of their education and benefit from the flexibility that virtual school offers, while others are looking for a consistent, safe learning environment.

Authorized by the Wabasha-Kellogg School District, Falcon View Connections Academy is state-certified and recently received its accreditation by the North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement, the Northwest Accreditation Commission, and the Southern Association of Colleges & Schools Council on Accreditation and School Improvement, which are accrediting divisions of Cognia. In addition, because it is authorized by a public school district, Falcon View Connections Academy students are eligible to participate in extra-curricular activities at their home district schools.

Falcon View Connections Academy also received very high marks and is considered a high-quality academic option according to its 2022-2023 Parent Satisfaction Survey, an annual third-party survey that provides families with the opportunity to review their experience with the full-time online public school.

Ninety-five percent of parents agree their children are satisfied with the program and 96 percent said they would recommend Falcon View Connections Academy to parents whose children are not enrolled in the program. Ninety-four percent of the parents agree that the curriculum is high quality and 96 percent believe the teachers improve the learning experience for their students.

In addition, 97 percent of the parents agree the Falcon View Connections Academy program gives them greater opportunity to be more involved in their child’s education. Ninety-seven percent of parents are also satisfied with the helpfulness of their child’s teachers and 94 percent say their child is making good progress.

Survey methodology

Connections Academy conducts the annual Parent Satisfaction Survey to find out how parents, guardians and Learning Coaches grade the program in several key areas. The 2023 survey was conducted from January 17 to March 3 by Shapiro + Raj, an independent market research company that created the questionnaire, collected the data and tabulated the results. Parents and caretakers of all students enrolled at the time of the survey were invited to complete the survey online. An invitation was sent to each parent or caretaker, and one response per household was submitted.
