Police Shoot 1 During Blaine Neighborhood Standoff
Police were called to a residential neighborhood on a report of a man shooting a gun outside Monday night.
BLAINE, MN — One man was hospitalized after he was shot during a standoff with police in Blaine late Monday night. The man's condition is unknown at this time.
Just after 10 a.m., police were called to the 10500 block of Quincy Drive Northeast on a report of a man firing a gun outside in a residential neighborhood.
Police set up a perimeter in an attempt to contain the man. However, the man fired a gun at a home in the neighborhood and then fired several more times down the street, authorities said.

A deputy from the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office eventually shot the man. He was treated at the scene and then transported to a local hospital.
"At this time his condition is unknown and there is no further threat to the public," the Anoka County Sheriff's Office said in a statement.

The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension — which oversees cases of police shootings — has taken over the investigation.
