Special April Elections Will Take Place In These MN Towns: List
Six cities, two counties, and five school districts in Minnesota will host special elections on April 11.
MINNESOTA — Six cities, two counties, and five school districts in Minnesota will host special elections on April 11. Under state law, special elections must occur to fill vacant offices or decide ballot questions.
Among the elections taking place next week will be Blaine's city council race in ward two. A vacancy was created after Blaine councilmember Julie Jeppson was elected as Anoka County Commissioner for District 6 last fall.
In Shakopee, a special election will be held on April 11 to elect a council member to fill the vacancy left when former councilor Matt Lehman was elected mayor.
