Shelter In Place Order Lifted In St. Charles; Suspect Not Found
Authorities spent several hours searching for a man after an officer tried to stop him for multiple traffic violations, police said.
ST. CHARLES, MN — Police were unable to find a suspect Thursday after issuing a shelter in place order for a St. Charles neighborhood, law enforcement said just before 3 p.m. in a Facebook post announcing the order had been lifted.
Authorities spent several hours searching around the 700 block of Meadow View Drive, as well as Don Drive and Highway 74, after an officer tried to stop a man for multiple traffic violations and the man fled, according to police.
The man is white; about 6 feet, 3 inches tall; slender; and wearing a black T-shirt and jean shorts, according to authorities.

"If you happen to come across an individual matching this description, do not approach, and call 911," police said in the Facebook post, noting authorities do not believe the man poses a threat to public safety.
Around noon, law enforcement asked St. Charles residents in the area of Meadow View Drive to lock their doors and report any suspicious activities while authorities looked for the suspect, Winona County Emergency Management said in a Facebook post.

The pool at the Mel Brownell Family Aquatic Center, 642 East Ave., was also closed until further notice, the city said in a Facebook post around 12:30 p.m.
