These 4 Industries Are Growing The Fastest In Minnesota
Minnesota's unemployment rate dropped down to 3.9 percent in July.
ACROSS MINNESOTA — Minnesota gained 14,500 jobs in July, the biggest gain this year since March, bringing the state's unemployment rate down to 3.9 percent. The leisure and hospitality, which led all industries in July growth, gained 7,700 jobs and grew by 3.4 percent.
"It’s always good to have a month with solid job gains, particularly in leisure and hospitality which have been hit so hard," said Economic Department Commissioner Steve Grove in a news release.
"We remain laser-focused on connecting as many Minnesotans as we can with available, good-paying jobs in our economy – of which there are plenty."

Since the beginning of 2021, these four industries have led growth in Minnesota; leisure and hospitality, mining and logging, professional and business services, and construction.
Minnesota job growth by the numbers
Leisure and hospitality: 24 percent growth (51,162 jobs added in 2021)

Mining and logging: 19.5 percent growth (1,120 jobs added in 2021)
Professional and business services: 5.8 percent growth (20,532 jobs added in 2021)
Construction: 5.3 percent growth (7,190 jobs added in 2021)
Not all industries in Minnesota are growing this year, however. The state's information and financial activities industries have shrunk:
Information: down 1,739 jobs, or 4.1 percent
Financial Activities: down 2,307 jobs, or 1.2 percent
